Connecting Solidarities, an exhibition celebrating 30 years of the Derby Bosnia Herzegovina Community Association (DBHCA).
Commissioned by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, this co-created exhibition brings together DBHCA, the University of Derby, and Artcore. It traces how DBHCA has built a compassionate network of support for Bosnians who fled the 1990s war, while growing into a vital organisation within wider refugee solidarity networks across Derby and Derbyshire.
Please join us on Friday, 8th May, from 6–8 pm at Artcore Gallery to celebrate this remarkable history and the creativity of the community. Running from 8th–22nd May, the exhibition features oral histories, personal objects, archival photographs and documents, alongside newly commissioned research, data maps and artworks. These include a community co-produced textile piece, and film by DBHCA member and contemporary artist Lejla Kevric. The exhibition also features poster designs by iconic Bosnian graphic designers TRIO, inspired by DBHCA’s story.
