Faces and Places – Exhibition

A photographic exhibition by Ray Gumbley.

A photographic journey through Derby and Osnabrück, Faces and Places captures the people, streets, cafés, public spaces, and fleeting moments that shape the everyday life of the two twinned cities. Through portraits and observations of urban life, the exhibition reflects on familiarity, cultural connection, and the subtle relationships between people and place.

The exhibition builds on Ray’s earlier 2021 residency project with Artcore, bringing together portraiture, archival material, public contributions, and new documentation developed during Building Bridges 2026, and will be a parallel event to the 50:50 celebrations marking 50 years of the twinning between Derby and Osnabrück.
