The University of Derby’s MA Arts Degree Show makes its much-anticipated return to Artcore Gallery this September, showcasing the outstanding work of graduating students from the MA Arts (Fine Art & Photography) programme.
Titled ‘Confluence’, this year’s exhibition explores the idea of a meeting point, a junction of diverse practices, disciplines, and perspectives. Within this macrocosm of creativity, the show offers a current of hope for a divided world, suggesting that even opposing viewpoints can find common ground and contribute to a shared future.
The exhibition marks the culmination of each student’s postgraduate journey and features a broad range of themes, including health, gender, identity, community, mythology, space, and the intricate relationships between people and place.
Throughout their time on the programme, students have developed rigorous theoretical and critical thinking, alongside exceptional artistic and technical skills. The resulting works are innovative, thought-provoking, and deeply personal.
Many of our graduates go on to forge successful careers in the creative industries, education, and beyond, underscoring the ongoing relevance and value of arts education at the local, national, and international levels.
