Samvāda in Clay marks the culmination of Artcore’s first four-week Indo-British ceramics residency, with the support from the University of Derby. Over the course of the residency, the artists will work side by side, lead workshops, give public talks, and visit local artists’ studios–building connections and fostering cross-cultural dialogue through clay.
Vinod Daroz is an acclaimed ceramic artist from India, renowned for his innovative forms and surface treatments. Artcore’s association with him dates back to our early years, and we’re thrilled to welcome him back to Derby.
Abbie Sunter is a Derby-based multi-media artist best known for her ceramic sculptures that draw from folklore, myth, and the natural world. She is the recipient of Artcore’s Emerging Artist Award 2024.
The exhibition will showcase works developed during this immersive residency, reflecting personal narratives, shared traditions, and an evolving conversation between two distinct practices.
We look forward to welcoming you.
