Cultural Threads is an immersive and sensory celebration of Derby’s cultural diversity, using a fusion of colours, fabric, clay and print, creating artwork from different cultures.
The threads within this creative intervention will be symbolic and represent the communities of our city, focusing on how they are interwoven through ‘place’ but also sharing certain commonalities within their cultures.
The community workshops will be held at the City LabVenue on St James Street on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 8th and 9th of November from 1pm to 3pm and will engage with members of Derby’s diverse community, working collaboratively to create colourful artworks.
These sessions are aimed towards adults but you are welcome to bring along children (6+ recommended) who may contribute to sessions and pick up a small goody bag.
We will also be having a small Diwali celebration on 10th Nov from 3pm-5pm.
